While there is little guidance on this scenario the Programme aim from which funding is derived should have a planned end date that excludes EPA, all other component aims should have planned end dates within the practical period.
As the validation rule PHours_01 does not exclude restarts you should return the OTJ planned hours.

The guidance in the provider support manual and ILR specification doesn't specifically answer this question, so I'm hoping for some advice please.
If a learner who started before August 2019 takes a break in study and then restarts, do the new learning aims require a planned end date that includes the EPA period? The previous planned learning date included the EPA period, but as we have to create new learning aims, do we follow the rules that are now in place and exclude EPA?
Also do we now have to return OTJ planned hours even though the apprenticeship started when this was not required?
