We have an employer who is taking on apprentices and wants to claim the new Apprenticeship Grant.
The learners will be starting their apprenticeships within the new grant period (after 01/04/21 and before 30/09/21).
The employer has two options to consider:
1. Employing the learners on a temp basis for 3 months and then if they are proving suitable for the role taking them on a perm contract and putting them on the apprenticeship.
2. Employing the learner on a permanent contract but with the requirement that they complete a 3 month probation period prior to being signed up on the apprenticeship.
Can anyone tell me please if, for both scenarios, the employer would qualify for the £3 k grant?
