BIL less than 4 weeks

Hi, we have a learner who we had put on a BIL in error as the break was less than 4 weeks.  Can we amend this as they should never have been entered as a BIL?  They have already been withdrawn from the ILR and re-started.

As long as the break date is in this funding year, I can't see why not.

Thanks Becky, I dont suppose you know how we would do this?  would we have to take his second POT back to start to in effect delete his return ILR?  and then remove the leave details from POT 1 so his first ILR is "live" again and running to his original end date with no break?

I'm not 100% sure I know what a POT is, but I think I understand and believe you're 95% there.

The second episode of learning needs to be deleted - I'm not sure if withdrawing on the first day of the "return from break" will achieve that, as this might get picked up as overlapping apprenticeships. Can you actually delete that data in your system? Providers are permitted to delete data in year.

As you say the actual end date also needs removing from the first episode of learning - then it will be as if it never happened.

Yes, providing it's all after 1 August, just put it back to how it was before the records were changed/added. Every time you submit an ILR it overwrites everything that was there before, so it will be like it never happened (because it didn't!).

Only *minor concern* is if the employer paused payments on AS (if the employer is on AS) it might get a bit messy...

Thanks Becky, sorry Period of Training (you were right with episode of learning).  I'll speak to my colleagues and see if we can do that as the BIL was this year.

thanks so much!
