Studying other programmes along side an apprenticeship

Some advice please ....

If a student, who has recently signed onto a degree apprenticeship programme, tells you (after all the eligibility checks have been done and all looks fine!) that they are in fact studying another degree (completely different subject) but just a couple of weeks away from handing in their dissertation (so didn't think it was worth mentioning during the sign up process!!)? The degree is being funded via student loan. Do we have no option but to withdraw them from the degree apprenticeship?

Can u Push back the start back so its after the complete the other Apprenticeship? Presumably they are different subjects?

Hi Kelly

The other programme isn't an apprenticeship, it's just a degree. So they are at the end of a degree programme and just starting an HDA.

The only time I've seen that it was allowed to be enrolled on both at the same time was when a learner was paying for their degree. If your learner's degree is paid for via a loan/student finance I believe that would still be double funding. If you can push the start date back on your Apprenticeship that would be best the best option. K
