Recognising and Recording Progress & Achievement (RARPA)

Created

We have a significant number of students who, not unreasonably given their circumstances in the past year, will struggle to progress to a higher level study programme.  As a college, we haven’t gone down the RARPA route much and my question is whether it would be acceptable from a funding and audit perspective to have groups of students on ‘bridging’ study programmes using non-accredited learning aims?  This would, for example, allow students who successfully complete their L2 qual to progress to a L3 study programme and if needed give them some extra time to achieve their GCSE maths/English.  They would then hopefully meet the entry requirements to enrol on a substantial L3 qualification in the following year.

Is anyone already doing this and has it caused any problems with auditors or Ofsted?
