Steve Hewitt Well, when you put it like that! I assume this session would need to be staffed and roomed?
To quote verbatim:
98. Planned hours are those that are directly related to the student’s study programme
and that:
a. are timetabled, organised and/or supervised by the institution
b. take place in line with the institution’s normal working pattern
It's "and/or" so work experience can count because that's not "supervised"
And at that point, I feel the line starts to blur between independent study and homework.. so in my head, make sure it's genuinely integrated into timetables, a tutor is available to support during the time-slot where remote (or a room is allocated with a staff member present so that the study is directed rather than independent) and have a register to back it all up!

Independent/Directed Study - Study Programme Hours
Created
Good afternoon,
Where independent/directed study is incorporated and recorded on a study programme timetable, what level of evidence have you been asked to provide at audit for those sessions? Would a register recording participation be sufficient?
It's not something that we have included in our planned hours previously and just wanted to make sure that we hold the right evidence if recorded on our timetables going forward.
Thank you in advance
