Did you follow the guidance here: Record a change of employer – Apprenticeship Service Support (education.gov.uk)
Yes I've done that. The wording says "The training provider will declare the month in which the apprentice moved to the new employer, the new training planned end month and the remaining costs of training and assessment." However, the issue is that the remaining costs of the training and assessment are more than 14K which is the maximum for the standard and that's what's generating the error message.
It doesn't read like a warning and it if the remainder of the cost is NOT going to be funded from the employer account, how does the provider get these funds. The actual wording seems clear.
This apprenticeship is above the funding band maximum
The new agreed apprenticeship price is above the £14,000 maximum value of the funding band for this apprenticeship. You'll need to ask the new employer to pay the difference directly to you - this can't be funded from their account.

Change of employer for learner on old Senior Leader Standard
Created
A leaner started in 2020 on the Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship, Level 7 (Standard) on the maximum funding of £18,000. They have changed employers to a new levy paying employer in April 2021. I tried to change the employer using the option on the learner record but am unable to enter the residual cost for the new employer as it's more than £14,000 (the maximum for the NEW L7 standard). I understood that learners on the OLD standard would be able to continue their apprenticeship on that standard at the original cost. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there any documentation about it as I can't find anything. Thanks.
