LDM 378 - Level 3 Adult Offer

Created

None

Good Morning.  We have have just run our weekly ILR and an error has come up ... "The LARS category code is not valid for the Source of Funding indicator that has been returned"

We have the learner entered as 35 - Adult skills & 105 - Skills Funding Agency (SFA) with the new LDM code 378 - Level 3 Adult Offer.  We have the updated version of the LARS downloaded also.

Any ideas how to clear this error?  Thanks for your help.

Forgot to say ... I have also checked the LARS and its showing the qual is in the Level 3 offer.

What is the aim?

Clare Hancock

Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)

Reference: 60126292

Learner is aged 24+ and prior qual level is Level 1.  We have a start date of 19/04/2021 (not sure this has any bearing on the error?)

I think it may be an error in the validation rule as this qualification is on the L3 National Skills fund list but also against category 41 and 47 for Mayoral Combined Authorities.

Thanks Martin West.  I guess this is something the ESFA will fix there end? Or should I report it to them do you think?

yeah, we had a thread on this last week:

https://esfahelp.education.gov.uk/hc/en-gb/community/posts/360010638200-learndelfamtype-82-Known-issue

I make it 14 aims that are in this position. They know about it, but are currently not expecting to fix it 'til R10, so absolutely report it and it might hurry them up!

Clare Hancock

Thanks both.  I knew you guys would know. Much appreciated.  I will contact the ESFA, lets see if it speeds them up any :-)

Hi all - It was me that started the original thread and below is the update from the Servicedesk after I pointed out that this issue affected more than the one aim (as they originally advised):

Hi Kevin

Yes, you are correct - it has come to light since our last communication that this will affect several learning aims.

Unfortunately, while I can tell you the problem, service desk cannot amend the validation status of these errors. I suggest you speak to your ESFA Provider manager or Territorial team who may be able to exert some pressure on the ILR team to reduce this to a warning until the issue is resolved.

Best regards
