Although it is better if you can obtain details of funding and training from the previous provider and or employer you would treat the restart with you as a new start but importantly apply APL for the learning with the previous provider, you will need to complete all stages of on boarding and paperwork and arrive at your training costs to complete the Apprenticeship. In the event this takes the total costs over the CAP any difference would need to be paid by the employer or waived by you if this is not acceptable to the employer.
The new provider will create new learning aims for the apprentice with new start dates and planned end dates as applicable. The new provider must record the new price for the programme using AFinType = TNP and AFinCode 1 and 2 as applicable, the Apprenticeship contract type FAM must also be recorded.
You would only record the Restart indicator but not the original start date as this is only collected if the learner is restarting the learning aim at the same provider.

What is the minimum info I would need to do a re-start as I am struggling to get the comprehensive info I need from the previous main provider. We have 3 Levy funded Apps who have I think completed about 8 months of a 13 month programme; I have Committment Statements signed/Privacy Statements but I need original actual start and end dates with previous Main Provider. I can see the payments made via the employers DAS, so I have an idea of new TNP's costs but what about personal info that would have been collected on application form etc assume I need all of that (do I have to get the learners to complete new Application forms).........and assume that the ESFA will not simply work off say the NI number on the ILR I create and the info sitting under that from the original start date? Hope that makes sense.
