I suppose my question would be "do they still meet the little/no work experience requirement for Traineeships if they've already done one?" If it's in an entirely different vocational area it might be OK? Assuming this is a 16-18 as you're talking about Study Programmes, if there are Good Educational Reasons for a learner to do a second L1 qual then that's fine (provided it's based on individual need, not just a blanket approach).
Sorry Steve ... I got my words mixed up. They have done a Level 1 as a Study Programme (Foundation Studies) and want to come back next year and do a Traineeship with a Level 1 aim (Foundation Studies). I have it in my head that as its in the same area it could not be funded as the learner should be progressing. Not sure on numbers, but maybe a handful
Aha, that should be fine? Again, it's the Good Educational Reasons thing, the learners *should* be progressing a level, but with all the extra bits a Traineeship brings, providing they're not doing *the same* qualification, I think it could be argued, again, on a learner by learner basis, that this was the right programme for them?

Good Morning. Traineeship question. If we have a learner in 20/21 who has completed a Level 1 aim as part of a traineeship. If they return in 21/22 and do a traineeship including a Level 1 aim, could they be funded? Or should we really be putting them onto a Level 2 study programme?
