Planned hours on ILR

Created

None

Hello All,

Please can I ask what other provider put as their planned hours for apprentices in the ILR since the change in Aug 2020. The ESFA guidance is a bit woolly.

It is the taught hours only?

OR

the Self directed study hours only?

OR

both the taught ours and self directed study hours combined?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Yolie - University of Plymouth

It is not that simple as it can consist of hours taught by the Provider and the employer and self-study, see the guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apprenticeships-off-the-job-training

And the guidance in the funding rules section Off-the-job training from page 12.

Hi - can I just clarify if planned hours should be recorded in ILR as

a) the 20% minimum off the job hours calculation,

or

b) the actual planned hours that we aim to deliver

As per the apprenticeship agreement and the commitment statement

Thanks Martin - We put both the minimum and the planned on the CS.

Isn't the apprenticeship agreement an employer and apprentice document - should the employer take the figure from the CS?

Darren Vidler

Steven Hale - it's your total planned hours for the learner. As Martin's referenced this is what will also be on the AA and CS.

Thanks Darren

Steven,

The commitment statement should include the planned hours for OTJ training and this must be a minimum of 20% although it can be more, it is this that must be included in the Apprenticeship Agreement.

Thanks Martin - that was what I advised internally. However questions were asked so I was just looking for confirmation of exactly what you outline above.

Many thanks.
