Employer Incentives claimed via DAS

Created

Please could someone advise on the following situation - an apprentice was recruited and given a contract of employment for November 2020 - the salon then had to go into lockdown due to Covid.  The sign-up paperwork, initial assessment, etc for us, as a training provider, was not able to be completed until April 21 when the salon was allowed to re-open.  Therefore, is the employer still entitled to the incentive even though they will not be a new start for us on our MI system until April 21 - which is after the 31/3/21 deadline or should it be claimed in the next wave of incentives due after 1/4/21?  MTIA

The incentives are paid out according to the ILR and DAS start dates.  If the start dates on  DAS/ILR are for April 2021 this will be the date used to calculate to 3/12 month incentive payment dates, and the employer will be able to claim their incentives via DAS from 01/06/2021.

Be aware that payments via DAS can be very very late to the employers - especially if they don't submit a claim a.s.a.p.  We have not had any employers receive their payments (1 month in arrears) after the  90 days qualifying period.  It seems to be taking quite a bit longer in our experience.
