Adult transferring from loan funded aim to apprenticeship

Created

Hi all, we have a learner who started the L3 journalism diploma which is funded by a loan.  They have now started a Journalism apprenticeship for which they need to complete the diploma, but how is this recorded in the ILR?  I understand that if it had been an adult skills funded aim, it would stay as that, but this is loan funded.

Thanks, Christine

To use funds in the employer’s apprenticeship service account or government-employer co-investment, the individual must:

P78.4 Not use a student loan to pay for their apprenticeship. Where an individual transfers to an apprenticeship from a full-time further education or higher education course, and that course has been funded by a student loan, the loan must be terminated by the individual and you must be satisfied that this has occurred.

I understand that, so do we record the aim as a withdrawal rather than transfer for loan purposes, then re-add the aim with apprenticeship funding fields?

A transfer is a withdrawal when the withdrawal reason is set as such.
