As far as I know there is no analysis of withdraw reasons for apprenticeships nationally as in the most case these are recorded as unknown or personal reasons as the dataset is insufficient to record the specific reason for withdrawal for apprenticeships.
Many providers do capture more specific data on withdrawals to enable their own analysis for the reasons.
Thanks. It seems odd that completion rates are such a concern but the withdrawal data that is being collected in the ILR isn't being examined (even if it was just to see how many withdrawals are the result of change of employment, which would probably be quite a reliable stat).

Withdrawal reasons - analysis?
Created
I was looking at the available QAR figures to benchmark our own rates. I was surprised to see that for Standards, completion is 65% at best and the pass rate for EPAs is 98%, so there are nearly 35% of starters withdrawing before reaching EPA. From our experience I assume many of these would be withdrawn due to changing employer or job role. Has there been any overall analysis of withdrawal reasons? The date is collected in the ILR but I haven't seen any published release.
