BTEC leaving date
Created
Hi
We have a learner who is completing a BTEC at college under 16-19 funding. They have informed us that they are not attending college anymore and are finished, just awaiting results. I know there are technically no exams involved and more of an IQA process, but does anyone know if there is an official leaving date like there is for GCSE learners? Could we sign them up onto an apprenticeship programme now while they are awaiting results, or do we have to wait for the start of the new academic year?
Thank you
Sharon

Presuming they're over 16 you can sign them up now, certainly no need to wait until September. The only "official leaving date" is those finishing year 11 where you can't sign them up until after the last Friday in June.
