Asylum Seekers

Hi,

Looking for some clarification......

Under the 26/27 ASF funding rules can asylum seekers be fully funded under the unemployed section?

Also, does anyone use Learner Support to fund course fees for Asylum Seekers? I know hardship funds can be used in exceptional circumstances to fund courses fees but the guidance below seems to indicate only certain things can be provided for asylum seekers

In exceptional circumstances, you can use hardship funds to assist with course fees for learners who need financial support to start or stay in learning. If an asylum seeker is eligible for provision, you may provide learner support in the form of course-related books, equipment, cash payments or a travel pass.

Yes, we had this clarified last year. They clearly earn less than the Earnings Threshold because they can't work, so they are Fully Funded.
