Asylum Seekers - Fully funded?
Created
None
Hi, looking for some advice please.
Can Asylum Seekers be fully funded in 26/27?
We did think they fell under the unemployed section as they are economically inactive with no earnings but the glossary definition of unemployed states 'An individual who is looking for work and who has no earned income'.
In addition Annex D which is the evidence pack states - Where the learner is unemployed, this must include a record of what you have agreed with them, including the relevance of the learning to their employment prospects and the labour market needs.
The learners are not necessarily looking for work as they are not always allowed to do so?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

They're categorically under the Earnings Threshold so of course they're fully funded. An Asylum Seeker still has "employment prospects" even if they can't immediately act on them.
