Academic Awards Certificates - prior to EPA Completion

Now I know this is has been asked before lots on FEConnect but is there any guidance/ where can i find guidance on whether you can hold back a Academic award certificate until after EPA Completion?
E.g provide a transcript of results for EPA gateway evidence and then provide the degree or whatever award after EPA is completed?
I'm sure @Martin or @SteveH will tell me you can't which is what i think is the case but need formal guidance if there is any so that we can work with others in organisation to figure out better solution.
