19-24 Traineeship
Created
Hi Community!
I'm in a spot of bother, so turning to you for some help, hopefully!
There is a learner who has stated on an enrolment form that they are at University, and has expressed interest in a Traineeship. They also have a part time job (0-10 hours contract), that they have had for 2 years.
My issues are: 1) If they are already in self funded HE, then they cannot progress into an apprenticeship. 2) I know the phrase 'little work experience' is open to interpretation, but I don't think having a job for 2 years is considered little, regardless of the contracted hours.
Any input or guidance you can provide would be wonderful. I've gone through the funding rules and struggling to find anything about employed learners.
Thank you.

Traineeships are not intended for those who already have the qualifications, skills and experience needed to start an apprenticeship or find work.
Two years work experience and being at university would also not fit in with eligibility for a Traineeship..
