Apprentice made redundant

Can anyone help me with recording an apprentice who has been made redundant.

So the Provider support manual says  "you must record this in an new learner Employment Status record as code 11 or 12" and do nothing with the FAM type.

I updated this but I get an error because it is asking for the period of redundancy.

We have 12 weeks to find him a new employer so at this stage I won't know the redundancy period.

Do I leave it until the 12 week period has lapsed to update anything or can someone tell me what I need to do with recording this on the ILR Learning Entry Tool.

I assume it's asking you for Length of Unemployment?

Given the shortest value for that is "1 Learner has been unemployed for less than 6 months" I'd just use that, as it's accurate enough!

The guidance for this is very poor, it is not a redundancy indicator in the LET but the tick box is to be used at the start of learning to identify ‘Other employment type’ (OET) this could include redundancy but you do not use this when an apprentice is made redundant during their programme.

So do I not enter anything at this stage in case we find him another employer to take him on?

If the employer stops him on the DAS we won't receive any funding and they are still going to college?

If the employer has stopped the Apprentice from the date they were made redundant this will not affect your funding from DAS, the ESFA will take over funding until the apprentice completes the 12 weeks or finds new employment whichever comes sooner.
