We don't enrol to a full PGCE programme alongside the apprenticeship because the content is too similar. We offer a top-up module to get the PGCE at the end of the apprenticeship. There's no funding claim for the PGCE so we don't think we're breaking the apprenticeship rules.

Self-Funded Course Whilst on Apprenticeship?

Hello,
We are offering teaching apprenticeships (L6 Teacher) and due to this, we have some learners wanting to enroll onto a PGCE course, will they still be eligible for an apprenticeship? I understand they won't if this is funding through DFE/Learner Loans etc. but can't see anything if the learner is fully funding the PGCE whilst on an apprenticeship?
