FS Initial Assessment per apprenticeship

Created

None

Good afternoon,

I was under the impression we should conduct a functional skill initial assessment for every apprenticship a learner enrols on but I can't find anything to confirm.

Or can we use the same result that they came out with on their first apprenticeship?

Thanks

This is covered in the following paragraph from the funding rules:

P146 If an apprentice does not have acceptable evidence of previous attainment of English and / or maths you must carry out a judgement of their current level. You must use current assessment tools based on the national literacy and numeracy standards and core curriculum or DFE published English and maths Functional Skills subject content.

This implies that where they have acceptable evidence of previous achievement for the level of Apprenticeship being undertaken then a diagnostic FS assessment is not necessary.

The same would apply on any progression to a further Apprenticeship.
