Change Standard - Minimum Duration

Created

Morning,

I’m hoping somebody can confirm something for me please. We have a learner who was on a Customer Service L3 Apprenticeship from 2018 to 2020 and then withdrew (20 months on programme). She is now potentially returning to us but possibly now going onto Admin L3 instead. I’m thinking that we would be able to draw down funding up to the funding band cap for the Admin L3 (taking existing knowledge etc into account) and that also the minimum duration would need to be met (starting the clock from scratch, ignoring the time spent on the previous Apprenticeship)…

 Thanks

 Steve

Not sure what you’re asking but due to the possible crossover between these standards content you should note the following with regards to prior learning:

P62 Where you account for prior learning and experience and the reduction of content would mean the apprenticeship would take less than the minimum duration to complete (as set out in paragraphs P31 to P40), or fail to meet the requirement for the apprentice to spend 20% of their time in off-the-job training (as set out in paragraph P45), the apprenticeship is ineligible for funding.

But, with the exception of that, there's no rule against a learner doing two different L3 Apprenticeships, the funding is tied to the specific standard, not to a level. As it's a different Standard, then, yes, minimum duration etc would apply again.
