To overcome the planned end date issue as 20% of funding remains it is best to withdraw and restart the Apprenticeship with the new employer, you can then set the start and planned end date as you wish with regard to the individual circumstances, the remaining funding will be split 80/20 over the duration set although the funding may be held back until EPA completion.

Change of employer after planned end date
Created
We currently have an issue with the DAS and we have been back and forth to the ESFA to try to find a solution but we've had little joy so far. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty around what the do if someone changes employer at the end of their apprenticeship, either after gateway or after planned end date.
The problem we have is that the learner is past their planned end date. When we enter the new dates in the DAS for the new employer the start date will be after the original planned end date, the DAS does not allow you to enter this and save the form without an error. The error says "The end date must not be on or before the start date". If we try to change the start date to before the original planned end date we get an overlapping dates error. There does not seem to be any logical way that I can think of to resolve this issue.
All the ESFA have suggested so far is that we change the planned end date in the ILR which doesn't against everything we've been told previously about changing planned end dates.
I would welcome any and all advice to help us resolve this matter.
