Maternity / KIT days / BIL / EPA

Hi

We have a degree apprentice who is due to go on Maternity leave next week.

She has 6 university sessions left to complete her Degree and she has requested to use her KIT days in which to complete the degree on time.

Problem is, she wants to wait until she returns from maternity leave before proceeding with EPA. Is this okay to do? I understand we can't apply a BIL after the degree is complete - so does she just sit in the ILR as late/unfunded? Or is there something else we need to do (obviously apart from updating the commitment statement etc)?

Advice appreciated.

Thanks

Nadine

I guess it depends when you put her in for Gateway? If you do that on/around her last KIT day, then she'll just be in Gateway for longer than expected, which is basically fine?

If you don't put her into Gateway until she returns then, yes, she'll just be out of funding for a period, but then, you're also not having any/much cost.

(worth noting none of the indicators on the provider intervention plan were about how long learners have between gateway and completion, at least not yet...)
