The collection requirements: Apprenticeship Standards (FundModel 36, ProgType 25)

This field will be used to record the end of the apprenticeship standard. This date concludes the End point assessment period that has taken place on or after 1 August 2019. Once this date is returned the Completion status and associated Outcome must be updated accordingly.

Yes this was our understanding up to now.

So the fact that the ESFA system kicked back an error for all code 8 learners, meaning we needed to add an 'achievement' date for the claim to be submitted without errors would suggest a glitch?

We did not update the outcome to completed, they were left on the code 8 outcome but the system needed the date.

We will see if we can resolve this month. I just wondered if anyone else had this issue this claim.

A new validation rule was introduced in period 7 as providers have been incorrectly entering completion status 2 when standard programmes had not completed EPA.

What completion status should we be using for a learner with an Oucome Field of "8" if we are still awaitng result of EPA if not '2'?

The completion status stays as 1 (The learner is continuing or intending to continue the learning activities leading to the learning aim) until the EPA has been completed.

See the following note from the ILR specifications

• For apprenticeship standards, the learning activities for the programme aim include both the training and end point assessment. Code 2 must only be used for the apprenticeship standard programme aim where both the training and end point assessment activities have been completed.

It has been like this for two years but missed by some Providers and therefore the reason the new validation has been introduce..
