BiL or Not

None
We have a learner who has a hearing infection that's taking its time to clear up, his job is safety critical so can not go to work and has a fit for work note from his doctor. However he wishes to stay on his apprenticeship and not go on a BiL, he is engaged with workshops, not behind on his assessments and having coaching sessions, but obliviously a little behind on his OTJ. Do we insist on the BiL ?
Thanks

My view is that he is still in learning so there is no need to take a break from it. The OTJ can be "lumpy" and does not need to be continuous.
