DfE Privacy Notice 2022

Created

None

Hi,

In the latest issue of ESFA Update, it mentions that the old ESFA privacy notice has been replaced with the new DfE one. We add the privacy notice to our application forms but this is crazy long.

What will other providers be doing? Any suggestions welcome.

TIA,

Mel

The ILR Privacy Notice 2022 to 2023 version 1 January 2022 points to DFE one so this is all you need.

Hi Both,

FYI the 'reduced' ILR privacy notice has not been updated yet. It still points to the old ESFA Privacy notice which no longer exists on the GOV.uk website.

I assume that this will be updated to point to the new DfE one published 20th June.

HI does this have to replicated exactly the same as its typed here? ILR Privacy Notice 2022 to 2023 version 1 January 2022 (submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk)

Hi Chris

I believe this have to exactly as it is typed here.  We are reviewing our enrolment form here here and just had to copy and paste. We also noticed that the contact preferences are no longer on there, but noticed that these are still part of the ILR spec: for this reason, we decided to leave them on.  Are also leaving these options on your enrolment form?

Thanks

Martin West

But from the ILR spec:

Valid to date of 31 July 2022 has been added to the following codes:

Preferred method of contact

  • PMC 4
  • PMC 5
  • PMC 6

Restricted Use Indicator

  • RUI 6
  • RUI 7

Thank you Martin!

Just reading the replies above, does this mean that the section on our application form where we have collected contact preferences (as per the old privacy statement) should be removed? And these codes no longer collected or included in the ILR?
