Functional Skills Funding Guidance

Hi all,
I am looking for some guidance. We deliver a level 2 apprenticeship where the standard states learners must achieve level 1 and attempt level 2. I am aware that the rules around this are changing for 22/23.
We have a learner who is on programme who holds level 1 equivalencies and has completed his attempt at Level 2 maths (and unfortunately failed). They have 5 months remaining on programme and in theory, could attempt again. My questions are:
1) If the learner does not wish to continue this aim (as they have met the brief in the standard) I assume the aim should be closed down due to the attempt being made? if so, how? Should it be shown as completed and not achieved or withdrawn?
2) If the learner wishes to continue and re-sit, I assume that as learning will continue (and is evidenced) we can still continue claiming the funding and re-sit as appropriate?
Our preference is for the learner to continue however, we are mindful that they have met the requirements. if anyone can guide me that would be greatly appreciated.
Best Wishes
David

Hi David
Yes, the learner has met the (current) requirements, would complete/fail them if they don't want to continue (although, you're right that it would be best for the learner to try again).
