Return from to Learning from EPA

Hi All

I am sooo confused - wondering if one of you lovely people out there can help me.

We have apprentices who have failed EPA and return to learning to be given more training on the weak areas identified at EPA.

I have read the provider support information which states 'where no further learning is required and the learner is only resitting the assessment or exam, then this is not funded by the ESFA and a new aim not recorded.'

However they are going back in to learning but it is not funded so do I need to record a new learning aim or not?

The guidance seems straight forward but the system we use does not allow us to create these.

Thanks in advance

I do not think there is any specific guidance on how to record additional training and EPA resits in the ILR and what you have quoted is intended for general learning aims and not programmes.

You will have to consider who is funding the additional training and EPA resit.

The additional training required for the resit could be recorded by adding a new component aim to the programme and when the EPA for the results is known the programme aim could be updated, alternatively the Programme could be restarted to include the additional period of training and EPA resit.

In any event the ILR should reflect the reality of the situation but the best advice as there is no specific guidance is to ask the service desk.

I know know I am not losing my mind or reading things long.

I will email the helpdesk to find out and post back.

Thanks
