Asylum Seekers - Additional education funding from Home Office?

Created

We have recently taken on in excess of 250 Asylum Seekers, none of whom are eligible for full funding, only co-funding as they do not meet the Unemployed or Low Wage criteria.

In a recent meeting between our CEO and the DFE, someone mentioned the possibility of additional funding from the Home Office to help support their studies. I've done a good old fashioned google search, and I can only find information relating to additional funding for LAs.

Has anyone heard of the additional funding?

We are an ESFA England Non Devolved area.

Yeah, that's LA funding, not aware of any way for providers to access directly. Worth a chat with your LA, obviously, but suspect they might have already spent it (and, actually, marginally worried that it would be considered double funding by HO to use it to "pay their fees", but that's just me thinking aloud, not any special insight...).
