You should ask if they have one of these documents biometric residence permit number, biometric residence card number or passport or national identity card you can then check their right to work @: https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work
Or the employer may have already done this, and this is the document you have seen.
If this confirms their status and they meet the residency requirement then they would be eligible.

Right to Work Stutus

We have an apprentice applicant with a "Right To Work Status" Document which does not expire until 2025. They don't have settled status yet.
They have also been resident in the UK for more than 3 years. Is this sufficient evidence to start an apprenticeship?
If not what other evidence / questions should we have/ask?
