Request employer to stop a learner on Apprenticeship Service

Created

None

Hi folks,

We have a non-responsive employer that is blocking the change of employer process on DAS currently. I contacted the service desk who have advised that providers are now able to request a stop on DAS which sends the employer a request. Does anyone know how this works? Service desk guidance links to a statement from the 12th of October but not instruction on what to do.

Any assistance welcome on this one.

Thanks,

Darren

Are they referring to this?

But it still does not say how to do this.

That's the one Martin, correct that it doesn't actually explain how to do it. I've had a look at the learner record and can only see the normal "edit learner details" option which doesn't include a prompt to the employer as we know...

I've heard back from the service desk in response to a follow up - this only works if you're adding a new learner from scratch and they are flagged as overlapping, not where they are an existing learner on your Apprenticeship Service account.

I feel the pain, where there is overlapping dates and you cannot get the old employer to close the record then you've got to go direct to the helpdesk and ask them to close it down. They will contact the old employer and if they don't have any luck then they will close it down for you, but this can take around 6 weeks from my experience. You can then go into the old stopped record and hit the change of employer button and this will allow you to backdate the date from what I've seen.

Hope this helps
