FE workforce data problem - FE staff data desktop app does not f

Unable to submit clean FE Workforce XML because FE staff data desktop applications forces us to chose an option under "Main Subject Taught" and "Highest Taught" for non-teaching staff - if one leaves this blank then we are unable to make an xml file - one gets an error "you cannot export until all errors are fixed". This is the reason we chose "other" under "Main Subject Taught" and "Highest Taught" and created a clean XML file which when submitted give us the below error for 21 non-teaching staff. Can you please tell us how to fix this issue.Rule Name Field Values Error MessageCF_TeacherData_02 The TeacherData entity has been provided but no teacher Role has been provided

Which role is it? Just tried with MIS (obviously!) and that doesn't ask for Subject Taught?

Hi Steve,

All the non teaching staff roles have this same problem: Administrators, IT support, Senior Managers etc.

I cannot leave empty  "Main Subject Taught" and "Highest Taught" for non-teaching staff - what do you put there for non-teachers?

Mia Wylie the issue you describe suggests that you have a teaching staff column value selected for a non-teaching member of staff. In the desktop application all the columns left to right from Main Subject Taught to Current Industry Experience must only be populated for teaching staff. If you populate any of these teaching staff columns for a member of staff without a teaching sub role selected then you will generate errors on the row.

That's strange as we didn't have the same problem and left these blank for non teaching staff. Are you adding data into Sub Role 1 and Main Role? This is usually the same if staff only have one role.

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaa, I see what Peter is saying, so, regardless of Role, if you put values in, eg Highest Maths or Highest English it thinks you're describing a teacher! So, for non-teachers that all has to be blank.
