Study Programme Start date and planned hours

Created

Hi all,

Regarding aim start dates, if we have a planned start date for a student for an aim (aims may start on different days) but the student doesnt attend that day but attend on that aim the following week, would we record the aim start date as the planned start date which they should have attended or the date they actually first attended the session?

Additionally, for example if the student started on 5th September, the maths aim was started on the 1st November, but the student withdrew on the 21st November, they will have met overall QP but would we need to remove the hours for the aim which had only just started?

Personally I always make the start date the first positive register mark primarily because of situations like the one you describe.

If a learner is withdrawing from their WHOLE PROGRAMME we do not change the hours, we only do that when they're w/ding from one bit of it. In this specific example, I'd imagine they won't meet CoF, so will be in your 5% tolerance.
