achievement of apprenticeship on ILR

Some advice please

We have a L2 candidate required to complete a L2 FS upskill, but did not achieve it. We now want to claim completion of the L2 apprenticeship, so for this FS learning aim do we mark it as not achieved?

thank you

Yes, is fine.

There isn't a separate M&E achievement rate for Apps.

apologies for piggybacking onto this topic. Can I just check this:

If all EPA activities are completed before 31/07 we plan to mark the standard AND the ZPROG both as Status 2, Outcome 8 with the Achievement date set as date last component sat in EPA.  Presuming that if we don't know the result before R14 the QAR calculation will honour a change in Outcome from "8" to either Achieved or Not Achieved by R04 next year.

Ah, we're not really meant to use 2&8 for EPAs... Is there really a situation where EPA is done by next Monday but you won't know the result of it by mid-October? Think I'd be having a word with the EPAO in that circumstance...

I think we're meant to leave it as 1&8 til we've got the result/know the learner has finished. Problem would be what happens to the completion payment if it's 1&8 in R14 but 2&1 (or 2&3!) in R04 with an AchDate before 1 August...

yes, it does seem odd BUT our director queried options and Jason Fletcher, DfE Territorial manager responded: as below.  How else do we indicate in current year ILR "that an EPA has taken place"?

There isn’t any scope for us to accept a late R12 return but you can of course continue to return data after R12 until the final close on 19 October and this will count toward 2022/23; although for data submitted after R12 the payment will not be issue until after the October hard close. You can also indicate on the ILR submission from R12 to R14 that an EPA has taken place and then have until R04 in 2023/24 to update the actual outcome, and it will count toward the 2022/23 QAR.

the payment to EPA isn't an issue - EPAO is paid regardless of whether Pass or Fail?

Steve Hewitt

Payment to you, not payment to the EPAO!!! ;)

Oops!  Thank you :)
