Recording Multiply Source of Funding on the ILR

Created

Hi

We've just had our first batch of Multiply enrolments which we have input as FM99 with the LDM 385 code. What do we put as the Source of Funding? It doesn't allow us to leave it blank and there doesn't seem to be anything in the guidance.

Thanks in advance

Ibrahim

385         Multiply Programme      This code is used to identify learners undertaking Multiply funded provision which is adult numeracy up to L2

If you used this LDM code, then it cannot be FM99 as it is funded?

Here is the recording guidance. Nothing about Funding Model!!

Recording Multiply in the ILR

The Multiply programme will be recorded in the ILR as funding model 99, with the LDM code 385 recorded against the learning aim.

There are a number of new Multiply-specific non-regulated learning aims that are available to be used. These can be identified on the LARS database and found on Find A Learning Aim using Category Code 63 Multiply – Improving Adult Numeracy Skills.

Learners participating in regulated numeracy courses through Multiply should be recorded on the existing regulated learning aims

Thanks Martin West but the guidance says use FM99!

Thanks Julie Crabtree .We're getting a Source of Funding error when we input these saying it cannot be blank. Have you input any learners yet?

Martin West

In that case the SOF would be the local authority that has the allocation.

Julie Crabtree

No not yet, hence following this stream. Sorry I can't be more help!

Ibrahim Mayat

Thanks Martin West will try that :-)

Hi

Currently in GLA Multiply Webinar and guidance is SOF - source of funding, not required.

Ibrahim Mayat

Thanks...our MIS system throws up an error if the SoF is left blank (even with FM99 courses). Will try and submit the ILR file and see if it accepts it.

Just had this back from the ESFA:

Good morning
Multiply aims should be at least one day long, completion date should be at least one day after the start date.

Multiply programme aims should be recorded as FM99, SoF998, with the LDM code 385.

Thanks Ibrahim

Ibrahim, this goes against the Multiply guidance on interventions though doesn't it as we were told by DfE that any interventions which are 2 hours or more have to go on the ILR, so in essence you could have a half day course, ie 3/4 hours and we would anticipate putting this on the ILR as starting and finishing on the same day but what Michael from ESFA is saying wouldn't allow for that would it :(

Angela Wilson I know it is conflicting advice. Will follow up and let you know if we get a response

Just had this response from the GLA !!

Update from the ESFA re: Aims being at least one day long:

Good afternoon

Where an aim starts and completes on the same day (Start date and Planned end date are the same) this gives a planned duration of zero days, which does not fulfil the qualification period for a one-day aim.

While you should record at least one day in ILR, your learner file can state correctly that the aim is only 3 - 4 hours long.

Just had this reply from the GLA

Update :-)

Good morning

Please excuse my confusion on this issue. I have now confirmed with the Multiply team - where an aim starts and completes on the same day, this format can be used for Multiply aims as the funding is not generated through your ILR returns.

To clarify, for Multiply aims, the start and end dates can be the same date.
