Hi All
I just wanted to pick your brains about something that is happening right now to my step son, and I want to understand how this can happen/why is is happening around his English.
He left school with a GCSE grade of 2, and went to a independant training provider to do a level 1 study programme. Whilst on the study programme, he achieved his level 2 functional skills. He left the training provider and has now started at a local college. They have timetabled him to undertake GCSE English, which we have queried with them, and they have said they put everyone through a GCSE who hasn't got one.
He has taken it upon himself to not attend English, because in his eyes (and mine to be honest), he has his english, but this is affecting his overall attendance. I suppose what I'm asking is does he have to do his GCSE english? and why?
