Access maths credits - how far do we go to satisfy eligibility?

Morning.  We have an apprentice who has 12 credits against maths within their Access to Higher Education Diploma, when reviewing the acceptable qualifications list this would meet the ESFA requirement.  However, we approached the ESFA to verify the evidence provided by the apprentice as it was laid out in a strange way, they responded "transcript appears to indicate that they have completed sufficient units at level 2 in English and maths, but it doesn’t list the English and maths units that the student has completed and achieved – only the totals are given. You will need to satisfy yourselves that the learner’s evidence is genuine and accurately reflects their studies".

We've approached the training provider who delivered the qualification for a breakdown of the units, they signposted us to the awarding body who have in turn advised they'll only respond via a subject access request which will take a minimum of 30 days to respond to.

How far do we go?  At first review the content of the diploma meets the ESFA's published list but their response suggests we must go further.  Would you accept as is?  It's already taken a month to get this far.

What I will say is that Access M&E units aren't usually accepted as GCSE equivalents by universities for, eg, teaching courses where they're a requirement, so learners need GCSE as well...

Would be tempted to just put them in for FS anyway, particularly if their initial assessment says they're working at L2.... Probably less hassle for everyone...
