Apprenticeships - eligibility to enrol whilst on another course

They can enrol as long as you're satisfied/have confirmation that they are not:

P342.5.1 Enrolled on another apprenticeship

P342.5.2 Enrolled on a DfE funded HE / FE programme (excluding AEB) where that programme is more than 4 weeks from 
completion

P342.5.3 Enrolled on an AEB funded programme where that programme does not comply with rules P75.2.

You've said their other qualification is being funded by themselves/their employer, which I am taking to mean privately i.e., outside of the mechanisms of government funding. If this is the case, then they should be fine. 

Hi Charlotte - we've had a similar situation with an applicant who is 6 months away from completing a privately funded masters who has been nominated for a level 7 apprenticeship.  We've reviewed carefully how the individual is funded and determined that it does not contravene funding rules as they are not in receipt of public funds as per Ben's message.  We've reviewed the content of both qualifications to ensure there is no duplication of learning as well.  We've also considered the impact on them in completing their masters and starting an apprenticeship as we needed to be sure both they and their employer wouldn't be disadvantaged and there would be no detrimental impact on their ability to achieve either qualification.  We've discussed it in depth with both the applicant and their line manager, worked through the delivery schedule and expected workload for both qualifications from which all parties are happy that the workload is manageable.  To support our decision we will be ensuring their record fully reflects the discussions and plan of action.
