Hello, apologies for the tardiness of my response. A colleague and I had previously contacted the DfE and were given conflicting answers, so I was curious if anyone else had any luck. I've since received a follow up message from the DfE who have confirmed that I can seek approval to claim the completion payment via the EAS, as long as the below points apply, which they do. Hi Ruth, Yes sorry the additional payments, I've had both the software provider and ESFA confirm that the apprentice was 19 and 5 months at start. Response from ESFA is below As the learner is 19 years old on start date 26 sept 2024 and falls under the new rule in apps funding rules (Employer co-investment page 69 to 71 paragraph 146.) Employers who do not pay the levy, if at the start of their apprenticeship training the apprentice is aged between 16 and 21 years old or 15 years of age if the apprentice’s 16th birthday is between the last Friday of June and 31 August.

We use the ones provided through our membership with AeLP, and there is very little difference, mainly around the co-investment. Next year I may try and suggest that we only have one contract rather than differentiate between the two.
