As a suggestion:uninstall it again and then make sure that you uninstall anything that says SQL (assuming that you don't need it for anything else on your device). Then try re-installing and it should sort itself out. HOWEVER if you need to keep your existing SQL, then what happens when you click OK? And what do the User Guide and FAQ say? If they say that you must have a specific version of SQL then can you download and install a free copy of that version and then connect to that? HTH, Caspar

If you have written confirmation from the Helpdesk that you are owed the money then you should be able to get it (albeit it sounds like it is very painful trying to do so). When you say that you exporting them again, are you able to confirm that they are in the submission file with all of the appropriate data? Can you see those learners in any of the reports back from the Portal to confirm they are present and funded? The only other advice I can give is to keep battling with the Helpdesk. HTH, Caspar

I would say, as Martin has, that you need to include these learners within your return. When you talk about making them "live": yes they need to be in your return, but they can still be on their break with the same dates as you had before you excluded them. They don't need to be "live" in the sense of it looking like they are attending learning right now. This **ought** to get you the funding back because then your return says they did attend sometime, as opposed to never at all, like when you removed them from your return and that led to the clawback. Appalling! This seems contrary to good practice and/or common sense.

I would recommend that you copy Chloe's advice so that you have the issue logged with the Helpdesk with a datetime stamp before R14

https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/apprenticeships-and-traineeships Error in apprenticeship QARs for 2019/20 (as published in March 2021) QARs are produced each year using a multi-year pooled data set and are subsequently published as official statistics. A calculation error has been discovered which affects the 2019/20 national level rate which was originally published in March 2021. The error has identified people who had withdrawn from their apprenticeship programme but who, at the time of publishing, were thought to have continued into the next year. In line with the code of practice for statistics we have taken down rates for 2019/20 pending corrected data being available. We apologise for the error and for this data not being available. This is necessary to avoid any further use of the numbers which we know to be incorrect. We need to complete the full production cycle for 2020/21 in order to provide new data for 2020/21 and revisions to any preceding years which will include full quality assurance of the 2019/20 data. The error is likely to lead to a reduction to the overall rate that was previously published, but the size of the impact can only be robustly quantified once the revised data is calculated. This revised data for 2019/20 will form part of the national high level three-year time series, containing data for 2018/19 to 2020/21, which is scheduled for publication in March 2022. Once that data has been calculated and quality assured, national level data for 2019/20 will be available again. This is scheduled to be published at the end of March 2022. Education and Training achievement rate statistics published in March 2021 are unaffected by the error and are available here.

My complete guess would be that something in your data file is making the system think that there is an extra record in your file which is bumping the columns over somewhere and then their system thinks there is a different cohort reference. I would suggest you open the file you are sending in Excel, or maybe Notepad, and look carefully... HTH, Caspar

You are correct Rachel. The Learner Entry Tool is a very simplistic way for Providers to submit their ILR file, but without any significant system behind them. It is intended for those with only a few learners who cannot justify the investment in a significant MI system. There are quite a few users out there and some frustrations about the lack of features. If you have a significant 3rd party tool or MI system instead then all you really need to know is that it exists and that is what people are talking about when they refer to the LET. HTH, Caspar
