From a purely cold perspective 12 hours subject unspecific exam and revision prep sounds like a lot to me. If you are doing maths/eng specific revision then you may find questions are asked as to whether this is actually a non-regulated version of a regulated aim - rehashing the E3 FS aim. Also if you are pitching it as study skills - topic inspecific - are you making sure that if you have a learner doing both maths and english that they are not enrolled to step 3 for both aims. And/Or if they did E3 maths last year and E3 english this year they are not repeating the aim as they would have completed it last year. I would qualify my comments in that we have similar provision here - TL aims that support formal learning. Personally I make sure that we have the curriculum team document the need for the learning on an individual basis. It may not be true that ALL adult learners need the extra confidence boosting course. Although in our experience the majority do :-) I raise this only as an example of making sure that paperwork is in place to mitigate any difficult questions at audit :-) HTH Phil

I believe, Funding summary report is calculated from the current submission in a vacuum. The remittance report will take into account all previous returns. If you have withdrawal dates prior to the start of this period, changes to outcomes previously reported or early completions then I would expect to see some variation. HTH Phil

Hi Kelly, Only certain EEP hours need to be returned as 'Aims' in the ILR - mainly those that are related to Work placements or programme identifier type aims, these will all have spec learning aims beginning with a 'Z' though. All other aims without a specific learning aim should be rolled up into the EEP hours field on the Learner record. Details and Timetables of all EEP hours should be retained for audit though. Details can be found in the ILR Provider support manual : Provider Support Manual for 2023 to 2024 (submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk) HTH Phil

You are correct. BRPs like driving Licences and passports have a valid to date that may or may not be linked to the immigration status. There was a thing regarding the EU spec for the encryption on the cards needing to be at a certain standard after 2024; which meant a lot of older spec cards were issued with Dec 2024 expiry dates as the Gov were due to issue new cards with the 'upgraded' encryption. If in any doubt individuals should also be able to use the gov.uk prove your immigration status service: View and prove your immigration status: get a share code - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) HTH Phil

Hi Julie Newman, Excellent guide form Ben James. Don't forget to keep a copy of the EAS that you submit as once you submit it you will need to upload it - with any amendments - at every subsequent return to the end of the year (R14). HTH Phil

Hi Karen Simmons I am in agreement that the stamp alone alone does not confirm acceptance to one of the Ukrainian schemes and BRPs are taking a while to come through. We have found that all our potential Ukrainian learners ( and/or their hosts) will have either an official email or letter from the home office with a case reference confirming their acceptance into the scheme and inviting them to travel to the UK. In the absence of a BRP we accept this letter/email in conjunction with a valid passport as proof or eligibility. HTH

Hi Sue Wise, I would say you are currently doing it correctly. Start date is the first instance of actual teaching and learning. Initial assessment is not usually considered learning. Phil
