Thanks for the clarification Steve - any changes wouldn't reduce the Planned OTJ amount - just potentially add to it as we enhance the delivery and learning experience.

We are looking to make some improvements to our programme to enhance the learning experience. Rather than just role out to new apprentices, we would like to explore offering the chance to existing learners, but that would mean an amendment to their Planned OTJ. It isn't an error, so the rules suggest you do not change what you originally recorded, but it seems prudent to document the change. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you both for your replies - I appreciate your time. Phil Dawe, can I just clarify I understand your comment (apologies if I am being thick). If I understand correctly, what you are saying is if in that submission we have (for example) withdrawn a record back 2 months, in the Funding Summary report it would just take into account that learner isn't attracting funding for that month, but the Remittance Advice would also take into account two OPPs have been clawed back - am I on the right lines?! If I am right, that would explain why the Remittance Advice is less than the FSR, but it is the other way round?! Any additional support you can offer would be gratefully received. Steve

The above response needs to be C&P into the funding rules (keeping in the hahahaha bit!!) If it basically irrelevant, which it is based on your explanation, why on earth haven't they changed the wording?!?! So, to close the loop on this, we need to ensure the EU Principle meets the two criteria and by default the learner themselves is eligible?! If that is right, thank you so much for helping me to clarify!! :)

(thank you for your replay) I am sorry Steve, but I don't understand your reply. If the individual has ticked that they are a family member of an EU national, what evidence do we need to see to ensure they are eligible? Do they need 3 years in UK/EU? Do they need settled / pre-settled status? Thanks, Steve

It is a shame they haven't listened to you up to now Steve - as they are armed with all the info, it would make the whole process significantly easier if they supported the new provided with the funding paid and remaining!! Fingers crossed for a change in the future! Thanks for all your help (and yours Ruth)

Thanks both. It might be me missing the obvious, but it seems such a complex situation and, without the necessary information, you're almost in the dark as to what is left and what you should record in your ILR. The above has definitely help so thank you for your help ☺️

Thanks Steve. Yes, we are doing the Skill Scans and other Prior Learning checks to assess where they are. To be absolutely clear I have understood Steve: If the learner is ahead, then we would reduce the TNP1 to recognise this. If the learner is behind, then we would increase the TNP1 and anything above the funding band max is paid by the employer. If they are exactly where they should be, then I use the calculation I state above and record that in the TNP1. Is that correct?

Thank you gentlemen. This is as I thought, but as someone had been so convincing with their argument, I thought it prudent to double check my thinking was right! I appreciate your time both :) Steve
