Learners Transferring Providers Prior to EPA

Created

Hi,

I'm looking for some help.  We have been approached by an employer who want to transfer some apprentices to us due to their existing provider ceasing trading.  That is fine, and we are happy to take them.  However, a number of them are beyond their practical period end date.  What can we do in this instance?  we know there is only the achievement element remaining, but want to take them as it forms part of the larger cohort.

Any advice?

As per the technical guidance:

  1. We will account for the earnings from the first provider before we apply the funding band maximum to calculate the earnings for the second provider. The total contributions from an employer's account across both providers will not be more than the funding band maximum for a single apprenticeship.

The remaining funding on the restart is split 80%/20% to make up the monthly and completion payment and for those past their planned end date even though they have completed the practical period you would need to entre TNP 1 as the amount remaining less the EPA costs and for TNP 2 as the EPA cost.

Martin West that is really useful thank you.  However, what do we enter as the start/planned end dates for the practical period given they have reached gateway?

Thanks

The start date will be the date they restart with you, and you would set the planned end date to represent the end of any training need they may have, this could be 1 day after the restart date where they are ready for EPA.
