Work Placements for 16-19 on ILR

Created

Hi All,

We have had job mentors in the college that have just backdated a load of work experience/placements and a few of these placements have started before the original work experience AIM start date on the ILR  and therefore flags an error upon submission.

As far as I am aware I can either change the work placement start date to be within the aim dates that it links to or I can change the actual work experience AIM start date, to be able to clear the error.

However, I thought the latter is something you don't change. As in you don't change the start date of an aim but if I change the start dates of these historic placements that have only just been added, then that's not accurate.....

Has anyone come across this and does anyone have any advice on best way to sort ??

Thanks Ems

The placement dates need to reflect reality. We just change the Work Experience learning aim dates to match what actually happened. It's the only aims we do that for. PSM says;

The Learning start date for the work experience aim must be the date on which the learner begins their work experience activity. This date may be after programme start date if the work placement is planned to start in the future, or if the placement is yet to be finalised.

You'd never know that until they actually start, so it must be ok to change it.

Yes, I'd call this an admin error and correct the aim start date to match the earliest placement.

Thanks Both - This is what I have now done.
