Hi,

Two quick questions, we need clarity on:

1.) Just checking can a learner complete an apprenticeship at the same time as starting university?

2.) If a record has been stopped on the apprenticeship Service and the record can't be reopened - can a learner still go to EPA and complete or will the mismatch halt certification.

Thanks in advance

23/24 Apprenticeship Rules;

23. A provider must not claim funding for individuals who:

23.12. Are in receipt of any other direct DfE funding during their apprenticeship; this includes any other DfE funded FE / HE programme including those funded by the Office for Students or a student loan, but excludes funding outlined in paragraph 23.11 and apprentices taking part in the Turing Scheme;

Para 23.11 is only about AEB, so not relevant here. If you could categorically say the HE delivery was neither loan funded, or OfS funded, I guess they could overlap. If you're not the one delivering the HE course, you'll never know if it was funded. If they were literally just finishing up the Apprenticeship EPA, I wouldn't worry. I don't see how any auditor would even find out they started a degree if it wasn't with the same provider as the apprenticeship.

Regarding the stopped AS record, it won't stop them sitting and passing the EPA, but it may stop you getting the completion payment.
