EPA - no show

We have had a learner who didn't show up for their EPA, if we record this as a fail in the ILR, would we still get the final payment? Thank you

This would be a withdrawal as they have not completed the EPA, no completion payment would be paid.

It's so frustrating when this happens :( As Martin says, that's a withdrawal, and so no completion payment.

Also, if they got to gateway earlier than the planned end date, you can lose on programme payments too. If someone completes early, you get all the remaining on programme payments at the end as balancing payments. If they genuinely do get to gateway early, but then don't attempt the whole EPA, it's a withdrawal, and you lose the on programme balancing payments too.

I did once get special permission from ESFA to put in a false Actual End Date (to match the Planned End Date) so we could get all the on programme payments we deserved, but I don't think they routinely allow that.

Am I right in understanding based on this that a learner not showing up for their EPA should not be offered an opportunity to resit?
