Agreed, just withdraw. From a reasoning point of view, he's not on a break anymore since that was agreed with that former employer. That would mean the end date for his apprenticeship with that employer is May 2023, so the 12 weeks starts from there.

Apprentice dismissed during BIL

We have an apprentice who was put on a BIL in May 2023 and has now been dismissed by the employer.
Do we leave him on a BIL and begin the 12 week period to find alternative employment from the date of dismissal or does he have to be withdrawn?
