I'm really interested to see what other providers do with this!
We record planned EEP hours for all students who should be doing WEX at some point in the year. We do include those hours in the ILR. That's important as it impacts on our average planned hours for students. If we don't include those in R04, I don't really know what the impact would be. A small handful of students could even drop a band without WEX hours. Before Easter, we look for any students who were due to do WEX, but still haven't done it. We then put on alternative work related activity for them, and timetable that. It makes sure we can still evidence the hours we claimed, and it is within the broader ESFA definition of work experience, there's just no associated placement record and we don't add the ZWRKX001 aim into the ILR.
I always advise our enrolment team to not put any work experience on the plans at the start of the programme. Once a placement has been sourced and start date agree with the employer, we take the hours needed from an unopened EEP aim such as enrichment or work related activity. An ILP changes form and new plan is drawn up to reflect the new delivery hours.

Recording Work Experience within the ILR
Created
Hi, can I ask how other providers record the Work Experience on a Study Programme in their ILR's. We have several learners that should have been starting their work experience next week but unfortunately we have been unable to find them suitable placements at present. Is it better to leave off the hours for work experience and add them onto the ILR once the Work Experience commences? Any advice would be much appreciated. TIA Helen.
